Job Summary: You’re in the coolest industry around – literally! As a Manufacturing Press Operator working with light gauge steel for refrigeration case parts, you’re crafting the essential pieces that help keep food cold and drinks chilled. From sturdy shelves to cosmetic enhancements, your parts are the backbone of every refrigeration unit out there. If it’s freezing, cooling, or storing, your work is keeping it look good.
So…What do you do:
- Mastering the Press: You’re the operator of high-powered press machines that cut, shape, and punch light gauge steel into the vital parts for refrigeration cases – think frames, shelves, brackets, and panels. You’ll adjust settings like pressure and stroke length to match the material’s properties and ensure a perfect result every time.
- Steel Handling Pro: You’ll carefully load the light gauge steel sheets into the press. Aligning them properly is key – if the steel isn’t positioned just right, the machine won’t be able to do its job. The material needs to be perfectly aligned to avoid any warping or distortion, especially since light gauge steel is more delicate than heavier materials.
- Precision Cutting & Shaping: Once the steel is loaded, the magic happens! You’re the one who ensures the press forms the steel to precise shapes. Whether it’s bending parts or shelves, you make sure the parts meet exact specifications. The parts you make will form the structural components of refrigeration units, so each one needs to be spot-on.
- Quality Control: Your attention to detail is what makes the difference. Every part you produce has to meet strict quality standards – no defects allowed! You’ll inspect finished parts for any defects like sharp edges, misalignments, or surface imperfections, ensuring they’re strong and smooth for assembly.
- Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Machines need care, and you’re the one to provide it. You’ll perform regular checks and basic maintenance on the press – cleaning, lubricating, and ensuring everything is functioning correctly. If a machine starts to misbehave, you’ll troubleshoot and make minor repairs to keep things running without a hitch.
- Safety First: As with any manufacturing role, safety is your top priority. You’ll follow all safety protocols, including wearing proper gear (gloves, goggles, etc.), and ensuring the press machine is in good working order with safety features like emergency stops and protective guards. Safety is key to keeping everyone (including yourself) working without worry!
What Makes You the Perfect Press Operator:
- Steel Savvy: You understand light gauge steel inside and out. You know how it behaves, how to load it properly, and how to adjust machine settings to prevent issues like bending or warping during production.
- Attention to Detail: The steel parts you produce are used in refrigeration cases, which means they need to meet precise tolerances. You’re skilled at using measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure the final product is accurate to the smallest detail.
- Press Machine Expertise: You’re a master at operating hydraulic or mechanical presses, knowing just how to adjust them for different materials and shapes. Whether it’s cutting, punching, or bending, you’re in control of the machine.
- Troubleshooting Skills: If a machine is acting up or production slows down, you know how to figure out what’s wrong and fix it quickly to avoid any downtime. You’re the hero who keeps things running smoothly.
- Safety Pro: You’re always vigilant, ensuring both yourself and your colleagues stay safe while working with heavy machinery and steel. You follow safety standards and use your protective gear to avoid accidents.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us:
- Competitive Compensation & Benefits: We offer a competitive salary along with benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
- Opportunities for Growth: We believe in promoting from within. As you develop your skills, there will be plenty of room for advancement.

The Cool Factor:
Your work goes into every refrigeration case. You’re shaping the steel that keeps food fresh, beverages chilled, and products preserved.
So, if you’re ready to press on and make steel pieces that help keep the world cool, your next mission is just one press away!
