Reports To: Production Manager / Paint Shop Supervisor

Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Powder Paint Worker to join our manufacturing team. The Powder Paint Worker will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various products using electrostatic spray guns and other equipment, ensuring a high-quality finish and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Powder Coating Application: Operate electrostatic spray guns and other powder coating equipment to apply powder coatings to product surfaces in accordance with job specifications and quality standards.
• Preparation: Prepare products for powder coating by cleaning, degreasing, and pre-treating surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion and finish.  Must be able to lift, pull, carry and position sheet metal 10 to 100 lbs.
• Powder Mixing and Handling: Mix and handle powder coatings according to manufacturer instructions, ensuring proper color matching and consistency.  Will hang and take parts off the line.
• Quality Control: Inspect coated products for defects, such as uneven coverage or imperfections, and perform necessary touch-ups or corrections. Monitor and adjust coating parameters to meet quality standards.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment and booths to ensure proper functionality and minimize downtime. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with environmental regulations for the handling and disposal of powder coatings.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of powder coating application, including batch numbers, quantities used, and any issues encountered during the process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other production team members to ensure efficient workflow and address any production-related issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in powder coating or a related manufacturing role is preferred. Training or certification in powder coating techniques is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with powder coating application processes, electrostatic spray guns, and related equipment. Understanding of powder coating properties and finishing techniques.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct defects or inconsistencies in the finish.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a variety of physical positions. Comfortable working in a powder coating environment with appropriate PPE.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or training in powder coating or related fields is advantageous.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
